⚠️ Critical Warning for Foreign Workers: Buses P402 and P403
Before anything else, there is one thing many foreign workers don't know:
Buses P402 and P403 (Bas Muafakat Johor) are FREE — but ONLY for Malaysian citizens and holders of the Kad Muafakat Johor.
If you are a foreign worker — from Indonesia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, or any other country — you are not permitted to board buses P402 or P403. This is a firm condition of the Bas Muafakat Johor scheme, which is a government-subsidised service for Malaysian residents only.
Do not attempt to ride these buses even if they appear empty or nobody checks. This can create problems with authorities and is not worth the risk.
Bus Routes in the Senai Area

Route P402 is the only public bus that stops directly inside a Senai industrial zone. It passes through Taman Senai Jaya, Taman Bintang, and several residential areas. Unfortunately, it is closed to foreign workers.

P403 operates toward the airport direction and does not enter the main industrial estates directly.
Bus J30 — Causeway Link (Open to Everyone)
This is the only paid public bus route that passes through Senai and is open to everyone, including foreign workers.

Important limitation: The J30 stops in Senai town (Pekan Senai) — it does not enter the industrial estates or factory zones directly. You would still need to walk or find additional transport from the bus stop to your factory.
J30 is more suitable for travel between JB and Senai generally, rather than for daily factory commuting.
Factory Van — The Most Practical Option for Foreign Workers
Although public buses are limited, many factory workers in Senai use transport vans or buses arranged by the employer or a transport contractor.
This is the most common way foreign workers commute to factories across Malaysia.
How it works:
- The factory or a contractor hires 16-seat vans or 24–44-seat buses
- The van picks up workers from collection points near their accommodation
- Schedules align with your shift times
- Some are free; others deduct RM 50–RM 80 per month from your salary
How to find out if your factory offers this:
- Ask HR during your interview or on your first day
- Ask a more experienced colleague
Advantages of factory transport:
- No vehicle required
- Door-to-door service
- Works for all shifts including night shift and early morning
- No unexpected extra costs
Disadvantages:
- You are tied to the van's fixed schedule
- Miss the pickup point and you need to find your own way
- Less flexibility if you need to stay late or leave early
Motorcycle — The Most Independent Option
Motorcycle is the most popular choice among factory workers in Senai, including foreign workers who have settled in.

Grab — For Emergencies Only
Grab is available in the Senai area. It's useful for:

Do not make Grab your regular commute. Daily Grab rides to and from a factory add up quickly — you could spend RM 300–RM 500 or more per month on transport alone, which is a significant portion of your salary.
Distance from Taman Senai Baru to the Industrial Estates
Taman Senai Baru is situated close to Senai's industrial zones. From this residential area to Kawasan Perindustrian Senai I and II, the estimated distance is 1–3 kilometres — around 3–5 minutes by motorcycle, or 15–25 minutes on foot.
This makes Taman Senai Baru one of the most practical locations for factory workers in Senai.
