How to Apply

Local workers (Malaysian citizens)

  • Have your MyKad and SPM / PT3 certificate ready โ€” most operator adverts ask for one.
  • Apply directly through JobStreet, Indeed or Maukerja, or walk in to the factory's HR office.
  • Your employer must contribute EPF, SOCSO and EIS for you.
  • The RM1,700 monthly minimum wage applies โ€” do not accept less.

Foreign workers

  • You need a valid PLKS (temporary work permit) tied to your current employer.
  • To change employer you need a release letter from your current employer. The old PLKS is cancelled before a new one is issued.
  • You cannot work during that transition. If your employer refuses the release letter, the process becomes much harder.
  • The RM1,700 minimum wage applies to foreign workers exactly as it does to locals.
  • The foreign worker levy is the employer's cost โ€” it should not be deducted from your wages.
  • Confirm the current rules with the Immigration Department or JTKSM. Permit rules change often.
